Context. ACTV8me's digital surfaces — corporate site, internal and partner dashboards, mobile apps, documentation — had grown into disconnected products serving different audiences with no shared visual or structural language. Large static images stood in for components, so styling drifted, typography and color went inconsistent, and responsive performance suffered across the board.
Strong systems create better products, faster teams, and more cohesive brand experiences — often the most challenging aspect is not the work itself, but getting to the work.
Process. The approach was systems thinking applied at ecosystem scale: a Foundation framework project paired with an organized Sketch style guide, a core component set built for speed, consistency, and flexibility, and dynamic web wrappers using variables and partials so the app experience and the marketing site could share real infrastructure instead of parallel one-offs.
Solution. Four surfaces, one foundation: a dual-purpose marketing site built for both visitors and the business team's own content generation; a standardized component system covering buttons, cards, navigation, states, and responsive behavior; a redesigned internal dashboard with clearer navigation, restructured list views, a Liquid Story Cards feature for customizable content, and a Daily Scratcher management console; and a Markdown-based documentation platform with GitHub-integrated contributions and self-generating navigation.
Outcome. What had been fragmented, ad hoc workflows became one scalable product experience — the same design system carried consistently across dashboard, app, and docs, and the connective tissue underneath everything else in this ecosystem: Mobii, AMC, Gwen Stefani, and the documentation platform all extend directly from the foundation built here.
