Planning Diva
A mood-board navigation redesign for a wedding-planning app — solving a scaling problem with content cards after two other directions didn't hold up.

Context. Planning Diva's mood board used large stacked cards that worked at first but became unwieldy as content categories grew — users struggled to browse by event type, style, or theme without endless scrolling, and the existing bottom navigation left little room to fix it.

Process. Three directions were explored before landing on one. A dropdown option was tested and set aside. A more ambitious Activity-Based Sections concept — conversational, with animation and typography responding to triggers — didn't get past prototype. A Content Cards approach, built for tactile browsing, became the real solution.

Solution. Themed content cards replaced the old filtered feed, designed to scale as categories grew without adding engineering complexity or asking a stressed wedding planner to think harder than necessary. A companion Dashboard extended the same design system into an internal tool for content deployment, tracking, and performance analytics.

Outcome. An exploratory piece more than a finished launch story — useful here as a look at how a direction gets chosen, including the two that got ruled out along the way.
